Choices of Technology

Why does Tesco use heat sensor technology instead of cameras to tell if the queue is too big.
Heat Sensor                                                                                                         CCTV Camera

  •        Expensive
  •        A camera means someone has to monitor it when it is in  operation
  •        A camera is a far more expensive method to resolve a simple problem
Why would it be a bad idea for Tesco to use a mechanical arm and camera to set stock from conveyor belts into baskets?

  •  Expensive
  • Very complicated soultion
  • Requires mainenance cost
  • Installation cost
